Distribution of Food Pack and Disinfectants Materials Packages for COVID-19 Jobless

ISDE Bangladesh distributed food and disinfectants materials to Corona virus pandemic (COVID-19) affected extreme poor and other marginalized peoples in host communities as well as Rohingya camps at Chakaria and Ukhiya Upazila under Cox’s Bazar district. The food pack distribution and participants selection was coordinated with local Upazila and district administration. The Emergency food and disinfection assistance has been provided to 960 families. ISDE Emergency COVID19 Response Pack was included 20 kg of rice, 5 kg of chickpea, 2 kg of pulses, 5 kg of potato, 2 liter Edible oil, 2 kg of onion, 2 pics of soap, 2 pics masks, 500 gms of chili powder and 500 grams of turmeric powder per family.

Last May 10, 2020 food pack distribution was started. During the distribution of Food pack at BM Char Union  Parishad premises ISDE Bangladesh Executive Director, Mr. S M Nazer Hossain, B M Char UP Chairman Mr. S M Jahangir Alam, ISDE Bangladesh, Program Coordinator Md. Jahangir Alam, ISDE Chakaria Upazila Manager Md. Jalal Uddin, Program Officer Md Ariful Islam, UP Members, local elites were present. ISDE distributed Food and disinfectants kits for 300 families in this union. During the distribution UP Chairman Mr. S M Jahangir Alam, thanks for ISDE and its donors WJR UK for  extending their support to COVID19 vulnerable people of B M Char and hopes it will continue for further.

Maintaining Social distance during the Food Pack distribution

Because COVID pandemic will continue for more duration. ISDE Executive Director, Mr. S M Nazer Hossain is his speech urge to maintain social distance, health instructions by the WHO and Government health department. He said no medicine is discover till now, so personal protection and prevention is the only way to safe from COVID19.

Meanwhile, on 11 May 2020, food and disinfectants were distributed among the COVID19 affected jobless and hardcore families in 200 at the premises of East Bara Bheola Union Parishad of Chakaria Upazila. ISDE Bangladesh Executive Director SM Nazer Hossain, Upazila Awami League Vice President Professor Harun Sarwar Badal, East Bara Bheola UP Chairman Anwarul Arif Dulal, ISDE Bangladesh, Program Coordinator, Md Jahangir Alam, Upazila Manager Md. Jalal Uddin, Program Officer Ariful Islam, UP Member, local elites were present during the distribution.

Food and disinfectants pack were distributed among 70 families of Chakaria Municipality on May 12 at ISDE Bangladesh premises in Bharamuhuri, Chiringa. Chakaria Municipal Council Mayor Alamgir Chowdhury, ISDE Bangladesh Executive Director Mr. S M Nazer Hossain, B M Char UP Chairman Mr. S M Jahangir Alam, ISDE Bangladesh Program Coordinator Md Jahangir Alam, Upazila Manager Md Jalal Uddin, Programe officer Ariful Islam, Young political leader Arif Moin Uddin Russell, Sheikh Ahmed and local elites were present during the distribution of relief items. 

This is noted to Emergency Response to COVID19 affected host and Rohingya communities at Cox’s Bazar ISDE Bangladesh initiated to distribute emergency food pack and disinfectants kits to 2,000 unemployed and affected families in Chakaria and Ukhiya Upazila of Cox’s Bazar district with the support from WJR UK, Wish Foundation Australia and Fahim Khaza Foundation USA.
