Chattogram, April 14, 2026: An essay and painting competition was held at Asian Residential School and College at Bahaddarhat in Chittagong city under the Green Energy Campaign Programme to increase the use of renewable energy produced from natural sources such as solar based renewable energy, water and wind power. On April 14, 2026, a large number of students of the school enthusiastically participated in the campaign organized by ISDE Bangladesh, CLEAN and BWGED. The new generation of soft-spoken students expressed their creativity through essays on the importance of renewable energy such as solar, water and wind power and the role of all quarters in protecting the environment.
Vice-President of the Central Committee of CAB and Executive Director of ISDE S M Nazer Hossain, Head of News, the Daily Purbadesh Abu Mosharraf Russel, Divisional Organizer of CAB Chattogram Divisional Organizer Md Russel Uddin conducted the prize giving ceremony. Chattogram divisional General Secretary Qazi Iqbal Bahar Saberi, President of CAB Chandgaon Thana Md. Jane Alam, Project Officer of ISDE Bangladesh Raisul Islam, admin officer Abdul Mannan Jihad, among others, were present on the occasion.
On the occasion S M Nazer Hossain, Vice President of the central committee of CAB and Executive Director of ISDE, said, “Energy security is under threat today due to various reasons, including global war. Therefore, just as the government has to increase the capacity of energy from natural sources, the common man will also have to come forward. For this reason, there is no alternative to public awareness to increase the capacity of green energy. The main objective of such an event in primary and secondary schools is to create mass awareness among the students of the young generation about the use of environmentally friendly green energy and to encourage the future generation to use sustainable energy.
Abu Mosharraf Russel, head of the news of the daily Purbadesh, said, “Today’s students are the future of the nation, so there is a need to organize more such events with sustainable energy among them. The nation will benefit if such awareness programs are further expanded in the future. At the end of the campaign, prizes and certificates were distributed among the winners of the competition. Teachers, students, parents and representatives of the host institutions were present on the occasion.
