ISDE Bangladesh stands beside 551 flood-affected people of Chakaria, Cox’s Bazar.

The recent heavy rains and landslides in Cox’s Bazar, Bandarban and Chittagong districts have caused extensive damage and loss of life to houses, agriculture, fish, livestock, roads, and dams. Chakaria of Cox’s Bazar and Satkania of Chittagong district are among the flood prone areas. As the flood water recedes, there is a shortage of food and clean water in the area. The non-governmental development organization ISDE Bangladesh is standing by the affected families in this extremely critical situation. Relief materials have been distributed among 551 flood-affected families of BM Char and Purba bara Bheola Union of Chakaria Upazila of Cox’s Bazar district under the initiative of ISDE Bangladesh, a private development organization with the support of Muslim Charity UK, an international development organization of the United Kingdom.

Among the daily essential food items provided to the family as relief items were rice 10 kg, potato 2 kg, soybean oil 1 liter, musor dal 1 kg and ORS 5. On September 12, 2023, during the distribution of emergency food items at the concerned Union Parishad premises, among others ISDE Bangladesh Executive Director MM Nazer Hossain, BM Char Union Chairman SM Jahangir Alam, East Bara Bheola Union Parishad Chairman Farhana Afrin Munni, Muslim Charity UK Monitoring and Field Officer Masood. Rana, Union Parishad members, ISDE schedule coordinator Md. Jahangir Alam, Upazila manager Jalal Uddin, schedule officer Shahidul Islam was present during distribution.

It should be mentioned that emergency relief of 2000 flood-affected families in BM Char, Purba Bara Bheola, Surajpur Manikpur Union, Surajpur Manikpur Union and Satkania Upazila Keochia Union of Chittagong District, under the initiative of ISDE Bangladesh, a private development organization ISDE Bangladesh with the help of Muslim Charity UK, an international development organization of the United Kingdom. Initiatives have been taken to distribute the materials. Initially, this assistance has been provided to 1400 families. This assistance will be distributed among other families soon.
